Getting Started

Where to begin? Well the only thing you really need before getting started with Movieplanner™ is a finished script, or, at a least an almost finished script. The first thing you do is to create a new moviebreakdown. When you start Movieplanner™ a new moviebreakdown is already loaded. You simply start adding data. If you’ve loaded a moviebreakdown, you can select the New item in the File pull-down menu to start a new moviebreakdown.

Now we can set the Movie properties. Select Properties from the Movie pull-down menu across the top, or from the Movie popup menu by right-clicking on the movie icon (you can also double click on the Movie icon in the tree view on the left). Here you can fill out the Title of the movie, the names of the Producer, Director and Screenwriter. If you have a Production Company (real or fictitious) you can enter it here too. The Target Format is the frame speed, resolution and file format of your project. You can provide this to anyone producing footage for your project, a reminder so that another person’s work will be more easily integrated with the rest. And finally the Description is a synopsis or any other descriptive text for the project.

Once your movie properties are set, you can begin adding scenes.
