Adding Scenes To add a scene, select the Add Scene item from the Movie pull-down menu across the top, or from the Movie popup menu by right-clicking on the movie icon. In Movieplanner™, a scene is little more than a collection of shots. Few details are provided here, but rather, each shot definition is where the meat of the information is collected and stored. Give the scene a descriptive Name, this will be displayed in the tree view and will help you select the scene when generating reports. Next, type the Slugline from the Script and enter a description. I usually just paste the text from the script. You could exclude the dialog, but if there isn’t much text other than dialog, just write a description of the action going on in the scene. Then indicate the script day of the scene, and what day in the story the scene takes place. Enter the page and position (in eighths of pages) on the page where the scene starts and end. The program will calculate the length of the scene (in eighths of pages).
You can either repeat this step for each scene in your script then move on to adding shots, or you can begin defining shots for this scene and return to this step for the next scene later. When you are ready, move on to the next step: Adding Shots. |
